The all-new Ford Escape 2020 is about to arrive at Ford St-Basile and it promises to meet the huge expectations it bears. For nearly 20 years, the Ford Escape remains one of the best sellers in its class with the Toyota RAV4 and the Honda CR-V. The redesign 2020 is an important one because the small SUV is the second-best seller of the brand after the famous Ford F-150.

The big news is that there will now be 4 engines. The new ecoboost 3cyl 1.5l 180hp engine promises impressive fuel economy because it will be equipped with the technology of deactivation of a cylinder when the demand for power is lower. It can also tow up to 2,000lbs, nothing less, impressive for a 3 cylinders. This engine will be coupled to an 8-speed transmission and an optional 4-wheel drive system.

Those looking for a little more power, will enjoy a more powerful engine option, something that is not offered in the Toyota Rav4, Honda CR-V or Nissan Rogue. Indeed, Ford offers an option for an ecoboost engine of 250hp and 275lb-ft of torque that promises lightning acceleration for a small SUV in this range. This engine will also be offered with the 8-speed transmission and the AWD system will be standard and can tow 3,500lbs.

In 2020, there will also be 2 options for those who wish to electrify their Ford Escape: Hybrid and Plug-in hybrid (Spring 2020). Both share the new 4 cyl 2.5l Atkinson cycle engine. Ford has not yet unveiled the fuel economy figures but we know that the plug-in version promises no less than 50km of autonomy in electric mode, enough for most daily trips.

But the main differentiator comes from the fact that these last 2 versions offer electric motors located between the engine and the transmission allowing the power to be transferred to the 4 wheels through Ford’s advanced 4-wheel drive system promising a much better performance in situations where the maximum traction of the 4 wheels is required. This system also has the ability to completely disconnect power to the rear wheels when it is not necessary thus reducing fuel consumption.

The millet 2020 promises racier, more aerodynamic lines in a more urban style that will appeal to young active city dwellers. It is a little lower, wider and longer which will give him a sportier ride.

The list of technological equipment is long and Ford will please the most demanding by offering the standard copilot 360 system on all models (auto road lights, lane departure warning, blind spot warning, emergency braking). Smart cruise control and the new autonomous parking assistance system will be available as an option.

The Escape 2020 offers an 8 "central display with Apple carplay and Android Auto on all models except the S and an impressive screen of 12.3 '' optional as an instrument cluster that will certainly have a wow effect among the customer base.

The first Ford Escape 2020 should arrive at Krono Ford St-Basile before the Month of October 2019.
